BlitzFFT
Second Father's Day without Dad, so Dad, I built you a new FFT! Just what the world needs, right?!
I’ve been building BlitzFFT, a native-Rust FFT tool for audio analysis and benchmarking. What makes it different is that it is not just a wrapper around an FFT library. BlitzFFT is built to expose the real engineering tradeoffs behind Fourier analysis:
• framed STFT-style analysis and exact whole-file FFTs
• native Rust CPU execution at the center
• real-input FFT paths instead of generic complex-only plumbing
• 64-bit processing and experimental 128-bit precision work
• explicit comparisons against RealFFT, RustFFT, FFTW, KISS FFT, and PocketFFT
• benchmark docs that separate measured results from simulated projections
Recent work includes faster native CPU paths, SIMD work for f64, better whole-file benchmarking, and a clearer roadmap.
